 The 2021 Cup season ended at
Brackenridge Golf Course on September 27, 2021. Please congratulate Richard
Salinas; he is the new River City Golf Association Cup Champion for
2021. Rich was in the top spot week
one. And he traded places early in the
season; but snapped right back to the top of the heap. Rich played 25 of the 29 Cup point rounds;
2 rounds were cancelled due to weather.
His championship was apparent after the 2nd playoff round;
leaving the rest of field playing for 2nd or less at best. There was an uptick in golfer
participation; 122 this year, there were 118 golfers in 2020 that yielded
points. Frequent participation and
solid individual golf performance are the main components needed to capture
the RCGA Cup title. Six members have
done that; Darryl Johnson, Norbert Zepeda, Greg Johnson, Corkey
Norred, Greg Hopkins, “and the new” Cup Champion
Richard Salinas. Congratulations!
