We thank the Brothers of Houston for hosting The Ray Williams Texas Interclub Tournament. The course selections were awesome and it was good fellowshipping with everyone. Day 1 at the Wilderness the men and women competition results were tight; almost even. RCGA Men posted 7 points and the BOH posted 6 points. The Ladies had a total of four matches that were boosted with two blind draws to fill out the teams. The RCGA team won 3 of the four-ball matches. So, the BOH Ladies went into day 2 at Country Place GC two down.

On day 2 at Pearland GC the match play format yielded the following. First, congratulations to Sean Gay. He holed an albatross on the par 5, 10^th hole playing at 503 yards from the blue tee. The ladies portion of the tournament yielded 6 points for the RCGA Ladies and 2 points for the BOH Ladies. The RCGA Ladies gracefully won the two day tournament 9 to 3. For the men’s component; there were a total of 38 points (matches) available overall. Of the 25 match play matches; the BOH won 10½. And we picked up the rest, which was 14½ matches. For the very first time to my knowledge; we won on the road. And, for the very first time we have won the tournament back-to-back.      This is our bi-annual interclub tournament with the Brother’s of Houston (BOH). This tournament was renamed in honor of Mr. Ray Williams last year. The event in the spring is hosted by the BOH; and we host the event in the fall each year.   This is a two-day event.  Our spring tournament is set for 2022 May 11^th and 12^th in Houston. Enroll to help us defend The Ray Williams Texas Interclub Cup.

Please expect pace of play to be longer than our regular weekly tournaments.  All golfers will compete in a match; or be skins only both days.  The club covers the blind draw for the four-ball match that is short one golfer.  All male golfers will tee at same tee location; one in from the tips. Formats/payouts: four-ball, singles match play, all skins are paid. 1^st place low net and low gross are won as a skin for each flight (a, b, & c).  Fourball & singles are combined to determine which club wins the tournament; we win or lose as a team.

     Day 1; is the fourball match…and day 2; will be the singles match play.  To keep it simple…you just play stroke play each day and shoot a lower score on more holes than your opponent.  Maximum strokes per hole is triple bogey.  That means if you are laying double; pickup and annotate a triple on the hole played.  All matches will be assessed from hole #1; regardless of your actual starting location.  Each golfer plays off their handicap during the fourball matches; yes, each golfer will get their strokes on the 1^st day.  During the singles match play; the lower handicapped golfer does not receive any strokes…while the higher handicapped golfer will play with the difference between the lower handicapped opponent.  I.E. Rick’s hcp is 7, while Chris’s hcp is 12…Chris would get one stroke on the 5 hardest hcp holes.

     Day 1; each golfer will check-in and the entry fee should be paid in advance. Send your Cash App payment to $Shutout190 (190 are numerical digits). The entire two-day interclub fee: $40 (covers match & skins for both days).  Golfers playing only one day; the fee is $20 (match & skins for that day).  If you are not playing a match, the entry fee is $10 which is the single day skins only fee. The green fee is individual pay; please pay your green fee at the Pro Shop each day.
