The Fall 2021 Texas Interclub Challenge with The Brothers of Houston (BOH) yielded a reversal of fate. River City Golf Association (RCGA) came through victoriously to win the trophy. The BOH fielded 27 golfers on 6 Oct 2021 at the Golf Club of Texas. A blind draw was used to complete the 14^th four-ball match. And the BOH closed the field on the second day at Starcke Park with Hayward Burrell to stand up 28 single matches for the match play component. There were 42 overall team match points available; we sealed the challenge by winning 32 ½ points. View the results for both days here.

As a minimum; arrive to the course at least 50 minutes prior to the shotgun start time.

     This is our bi-annual interclub tournament with the Brother’s of Houston (BOH). The event in the spring is hosted by the BOH; and we host the event in the fall each year.  This is a two-day event.  Please expect pace of play to be longer than our regular weekly tournaments.  All golfers will compete in a match; or be skins only both days.  The club covers the blind draw for the four-ball match that is short one golfer.  Formats/payouts: four-ball, singles match play, all skins are paid. 1^st place low net and low gross are won as a skin for each flight (a, b, & c).  The team event consists of Fourball & Match Play; we win or lose as a team.

     Day 1; is the fourball match…and day 2; will be the singles match play.  To keep it simple…you just play stroke play each day and shoot a lower score on more holes than your opponent.  Maximum strokes per hole is triple bogey.  That means if you are laying double; pickup and annotate a triple on the hole played.  All matches will be assessed from hole #1; regardless of your actual starting location.  Each golfer plays off their handicap during the fourball matches; yes, each golfer will get their strokes on the 1^st day.  

     Day 1; each golfer will check-in and pay the entire two-day interclub fee (pay by Cash App in advance to $shutout190); which is $40 (covers match & skins for both days).  Golfers playing only one day; the fee is $20 (match & skins for that day).  If you are not playing a match, the entry fee is $10 which is the single day skins only fee. The green fee is individual pay; please pay your green fee at the Pro Shop each day.

     Day 2; during the singles match play; the lower handicapped golfer does not receive any strokes…while the higher handicapped golfer will play with the difference between the lower handicapped opponent.  I.E. Rick’s hcp is 7, while Chris’s hcp is 12…Chris would get one stroke on the 5 hardest hcp holes.

    Those listed below are expected to play this venue.  Golfers that have not secured/reserved a slot will not be allowed to play RCGA venues.  (That means you must RSVP or be on the automatic player list)  Contact me if your name is not listed and you plan to play. Contact me if your name is listed and you do not plan to play.  Also provide the names of any guest that shall play.
