Congratulations to Curtis Kennedy and Randy Block for winning the 2020 River City Golf Association (RCGA) Two-Man Tournament. The tandem led from the onset and held off the nearest competitors by 1.2 strokes/points. Northern Hills hosted the first leg of the RCGA Two-Man Tournament. And Mission Del Lago was the second location of our tournament.

Our field of participants have grown each year. This year our field consisted of 28 teams. The purse and payout positions are based on participation. The purse is funded by your advanced paid two-week Net entry fee and our Club funds. The Club funded $440.00 this year. Payout positions increased from 7 to 8 this year. The total purse was $1,500.00; which is an increase from 2019.

The first week leaders; position 1 and 2 came from the same foursome. The dynamic duo of Block/Kennedy positioned themselves in 1^st place. While the complimentary abilities of Hines/Volley comfortably played their way to 2^nd place; only 0.2 behind Block/Kennedy for week one of the tournament. Block/Kennedy posted a round one stroke better than Hines/Volley; securing a lock on 1^st place at Mission Del Lago (MDL). Francisco Zavala and Mike Pitts posted a 58; which was the best team score for the second round at MDL. That productivity took Pitts/Zavala from 23^rd to finishing in the payout position of 5^th place. John Rogers and Lawrence Johnson also moved themselves into a payout position with their play at MDL. The 2020 RCGA Two-Man Tournament is scheduled to be played October 12th and 19th.  So, we need to know the teams.  You coordinate among yourselves to form your teams.  Send an email or text to Greg Johnson to enroll your team.  Due to this tournament being postponed because of the COVID-19 health crisis; almost everyone have met the 10 rounds played prerequisite.  See additional details below.

The entire two day non-refundable tournament fee is due upon entry.  Cash App your entry fee to $shutout190   Here is the fee schedule per golfer:

$40.00 - - Two Man Championship participants (covers all-in for both days)

$24.00 - - Two Man Championship participants (covers tournament & CTP both days; not Skins eligible)

$12.00 - - Individual golfers not competing in Two Man Championship (Skins & CTP eligible only per day)

Formats:

- 1st round- 2-man team’s total combined net score

- 2nd round- Four Ball (team’s best ball net per hole)

Even though best ball (Four-Ball) is the competition format, each golfer shall play their ball tee through the green. In a nutshell, the entire field will play stroke play as usual.  The total team score will be the sum of the combined net of the team's 1st round plus the team’s four ball score of the 2nd round.  The lowest team score shall be crowned the winner.  Payouts and finishing positions shall be based on participation. 

Members and guest may compete in the rounds played of this tournament and be in all of our regular competitions (Skins and CTP) according to the RCGA By-Laws.  The low net payouts shall be suspended during this tournament.  The low net entry fee and the Club shall fund the Two Man Championship purse. Click here to see the 2019 Two Man Championship data.
