River City Golf Association (RCGA)
COVID-19 Protocol for Play

Updated 30 October 2020, originally drafted 12 May 2020.

The temporary postponement of RCGA club play has expired.  We reignited our competitive tournament play on May 18th at Mission Del Lago.  However, COVID-19 required us to modify and establish a few new wrinkles.  As with everything we establish; it requires your commitment.  The following explains how we shall play and what each member/guest is required to do.  Here are a few topics outlined below.

·       Implementing Cash App utilization

·       Closest to pin competition re-instated …updated

·       Entry fee allocation, reverted back to normal …updated

·       Tee sheet conversion to tee times

·       Sand traps are back in play …updated 30 Oct 2020

·       Scorecards

·       Social distancing…updated 28 June 2020

Cash App Utilization

All golfers; members and guest shall be required to enroll in the Cash App.  Several of you already have the Cash App and utilize it with SAMGA.  The app offers a $5 perk to the person that invites you to use/enroll in the Cash App.  I recommend that you input a debit card account during your Cash App account signup/installation.  The enrollment invitation will be forwarded to your cell phone.  The Cash App shall be used to eliminate hand-to-hand cash transactions.  Everyone shall pay their entry fee and receive payouts through the Cash App.  Weekly Execution: Each golfer must use the Cash App to submit their tournament entry fee to Jimmy Holmes at $JimmyHolmesSr by noon Saturday to enroll to play the following Monday.

Here is the RCGA’s Cash App invitation link: https://cash.app/app/DRXHVRV  Use it to establish an account if you do not have one yet.

Closest to Pin Competition Reinstated 22 May

The closest to pin competition was reinstated after our play on 18 May.

Entry Fee Allocation Reverts to Standard Operation

We shall return to the regular entry fee allocation addressed in the RCGA By Laws.

The following was implemented as a result of temporarily putting the CTP format on ice, the entry fee shall be reallocated as follows:
- $20; all in enrollment includes flighted net, skins & player fee ($10 Net….$8 Skins….$2 Player fee)
- $12; net only ($10 Net….$2 Player fee)
- $12; skins only ($10 Skins….$2 Player fee).  This is the guest and qualifier’s fee.
All entry fees are mandatory.

Tee Sheet and Enrollment

Golfers on the automatic list are placed on the list to play each week.  Normally, no action is required for their enrollment to play.  However, they must contact Greg Johnson by Thursday to withdraw.  All others enroll to play by contacting Greg Johnson by email or text message by Thursday to play the following Monday.  Tee times are the golf courses COVID-19 protocols.  Our tee sheet will reflect that of the course we are scheduled to play.  Our start times have been moved to earlier times to ensure golf carts are available.  Unfilled and vacant reservations shall be returned to the golf course on Friday.

Sand traps are now in play; effective 1 Nov 2020

Scorecards

Due to the use of tee times, after play admin personnel may not be available to the later starting groups.  Therefore, we shall use more technology.  Take a picture of the scorecard.  Groups will neatly annotate the official scorecard with hole-by-hole scores, totals, and two signatures.  Then, forward that information to both of these addresses.
